Synvisc One
is a single injection of the preparation used in the case of pain in osteoarthritis. Synvisc One effectively replaces periodic losses of natural synovial fluid in the joint, thanks to which it completely eliminates or reduces pain and increases joint mobility. It is used in patients with different stages of osteoarthritis of the knee.
Action:
Synvisc One is made of hylan polymers. It has the consistency of an elastic-viscous liquid. The drug contains hylan A and hylan B in a buffered physiological sodium chloride solution. The preparation works rheologically and its action is similar to that of the natural synovial fluid. Thanks to the injection of the drug into the joint, the mechanical properties of the natural fluid changed as a result of inflammation improve. The preparation covers and protects the surface parts of tissues, fills the intercellular spaces of the soft connective tissue of the joint (thanks to which it protects the cells and fibrous parts of the extracellular matrix). The drug relieves pain and thus increases joint mobility.
Intended use:
For periodic replacement and replenishment of synovial fluid.
In patients at different stages of osteoarthritis in the knee joint.
It is most effective in patients who actively and regularly use the affected knee.
It obtains a therapeutic effect through viscosupplementation - a process in which the physiological and rheological state of the tissues of the inflamed knee joint is restored.
The Synvisc One medical device (hylan G-F 20) is intended to reduce pain and discomfort and increase the mobility of the affected joint. In vitro studies have shown that hylan G-F 20 protects cartilage cells against certain physical and chemical damage. SynviscOne is administered by a physician only intra-articular to treat the pain associated with OA of the knee.
SynviscOne (hylan G-F 20) is a sterile, pyrogen-free, elastic-viscous liquid containing hylans. Hylans are derivatives of hyaluronate (the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid) that contain the repeating disaccharide units of N-acetyl-glucosamine and sodium glucuronate. Hylan A has an average molecular weight of about 6,000,000 Daltons and hylan B is in the form of a hydrated gel. Hylan G-F 20 contains hylan A and hylan B (8.0 mg ± 2.0 mg / ml) in a buffered physiological sodium chloride solution (pH 7.2 ± 0.3).
Recommended dosage:
1 injection of 6 ml into the knee joint. Depending on the patient's symptoms, the injection may be repeated 6 months after the first injection. Composition: 1 ml of hylan G-F 20 contains: hylan 8.0 mg, sodium chloride 8.5 mg, disodium hydrogen phosphate 0.16 mg, sodium dihydrogen phosphate monohydrate 0.04 mg, water for injections q.s.
